Lekhny Story -12-Jun-2024
In fields of toil and factories grim, Where dreams are crushed on a heartless whim, Tiny hands bear burdens great, While childhood’s light starts to abate.
In shadows where the sun should shine, Children labor, toe the line, Not in play, nor school’s embrace, But in a harsh, relentless race.
With weary eyes and calloused hands, They strive in far and distant lands, For pennies, nickels, scraps of gold, Their stories often go untold.
Yet hope endures, as voices rise, To pierce the dark with hopeful cries, A world where children laugh and learn, A brighter flame for which we yearn.
On this day, we vow to fight, To turn the wrongs and set them right, For every child deserves the chance, To dream, to play, to sing, to dance.
So let us stand and join the cause, Demanding change, rewriting laws, For every child, we lift our voice, In freedom’s name, let’s all rejoice.
